OUR HISTORY

After six years of professionally snow skiing around the World, Randy Wieman started "Hot Shots Photography and Video" in the ski resort of Mt Buller, VIC in 1986. The next winter the business was expanded to Thredbo, NSW where Hot Shots continues to operate. Every winter, teams of photographers photograph all the skiers and visitors on the mountain and in the Village.

In the beginning, all photos were shot on transparencies (slides) and displayed by projecting those images onto screens. Shortly afterward a minilab was installed to produce the prints that photographers shot on negative film. During the 2000 winter, a computer system was developed to put all of Hot Shots’ photographs on the internet so that skiers could view their photos after leaving the Resort. 

The development of photographing, displaying and selling images has progressed to another level. At Hot Shots Photography and Video all photographs are taken with digital cameras and loaded onto www.hotshots.net.au the same day. A simple logical system has been developed to enable everybody to find their photographs at the touch of a few keys.

Like life itself, photography is constantly evolving. We live in an exciting era with dramatic changes happening everyday.
